4.11 clogging my mac, please advise.

hey there.

i upgraded to 4.11 and my cpu runs at near 100% whenever LW is running on my G5 2.0ghz, 2bg ram. this is even with all very, very little going up or down, and only a handful of incomplete files.

id be happy for some advice, even if only to downgrade to 4.10 which worked fine - but my machine doesnt want to downgrade.

Hi .. You don't say if you are running 4.11.0 (which was troublesome by most accounts) or 4.11.1 or which exact OS you are using which would be of interest to the developers. 4.11 are Beta versions which are new versions, not entirely tested and problems can be expected with them, and reported here. I say this as I'm not sure if you were aware of that.

As for reverting to 4.10.9 .. This shouldn't be a problem, but you would need to delete 4.11 before installing 4.10.9 if your OS works like mine which is OSX 10.3.9. You may also have to delete your preference folder for Limewire .. Doing this will possibly loose your incomplete downloads, but reverting to a previous version can do this, on occasions, anyway.

thanks so much for your reply and patience.

i am running LW 4.11.1 and os 10.4.6. i tried going back to 4.10.9 but the computer first warns me that i have a newer version of LW already installed, i chose to install anyhow, then i get a message that there is nothing to install, and the installer quits. this is even after deleting LW and LW preferences.
