Right I think i know how to do the skins. Not completely sure but you can try it.

first you have to get the skin from the submit your own skins section (i think)

Then you have to have some kind of photo editor. load the unzipped files into there and alter the colours to your preferences.

Then go file the folder into the your username/.limewire/themes folder, copy the .txt thing and paste it into the themes folder.

Finally change the .txt file into a .lwtp file.

Refresh skins aand i think it should be there.

how do you make one

Donna, the first thing you have to do is go to your Limewire settings folder. If you're using Windows XP, it is at C:\\Documents and Settings\(YOU)\Application Data\Limewire\themes.

After you do that, go into one of the themes folders there - (black_theme, limewire_theme, classic_theme, or default_theme) - and double click on the theme.txt file in that folder to open it in notepad.

Once that file is opened in notepad, you will see a list of areas that have corresponding 6 digit color codes. These 6 digit codes dictate to the Limewire interface what color will be applied in what area. To change the colors in the Limewire interface, you change these codes.

To determine what areas of the interface you want to change, go to http://wiki.limewire.org/index.php?title=Make_a_Skin . This shows you what listing in the theme.txt file changes what part of the Limewire interface.

To get the color codes you want to change to, you need to get a color picker like Color Mania, a free program, and learn to use it. It will give you the six digit color code you are looking for and will copy the code to the clipboard. Once that's done, you highlight the 6 digit code you want to change in the theme.txt file and paste the new code into its place to change the color in that area of the Limewire interface.

Start up Limewire, and you will see the color that you changed in the theme.txt file is now changed in the Limewire interface. Change each listing in the theme.txt file until you arrive at the result you want.
