Limewire 4.14

I was happy enough to get my hands on a copy of 4.14... Downloaded and ran it, only to be hit with a splash screen saying 4.12. Any1 got any ideas as to why this is happening? Very grateful for any advice.

If you go to Help -> About, does it say 4.14?

Yes indeed it does (1st time I've checked) I was beginning to wonder if it actually was 4.14, but I'm still getting the 4.12 splash screen on load up. Extremely trivial but could it be because I've not uninstalled the previous version?

You can go to your c:\documents and settings\<username>\Application Data\LimeWire directory, and delete the "themes" directory. (It might also be at c:\documents and settings\<username>\.limewire .) The next time you start LimeWire, it should be right.

Tried it and it works! I also removed .ping files (illustrating 4.12 splash screen icons). Thanks again.

hey....

how come wen i try to search music a lock box comes up adn says "only search resutls w\ a **lock box** are official limewire communications." and thna theres a link that sais more info but all it takes me to is to download limewire again and i did that like 500 timez!!!!!

Pretty surprising since I actually had the same problem with 4.14.0 and it had the 4.12 splash on it. When i checked for new updates and downloaded 4.14.2 it suddenly changed to the 4.14 splash. Quite confusing.:confused:
