I just upgraded to the newest version and when I try to open the options tab under tools it pops up for half a second then disappears? I really need to fix this. Can anyone help? I already tried closing down and restarting.
Thanks
Theresa

I don't seem to be able to reproduce this under Vista....What Java version do you have?

Thanks for your help, but don't worry about it now. it's the least of my worries right now. I appear to have a virus, which is trying to start limewire every minute or so. I say 'try' because I have it uninstalled, but it keeps on trying.

Ok, run your virus scanner immediately, and see if that works. If it doesn't, you might need to get special assistance. Only A Hobo knows a page of how to get rid of alcra.

k i registered on here just for this specific problem.
i think it is a GNutella issue possibly with vista because i ended up downloading frostwire and the same thing happened
EDIT: i have updated my java and now am gonna try downloading it again if it happens again i am well and truly stumped.

the same as everyone elses the options tab appears then goes away
atm i have opened it and is working fine but it is likely to mess up again once i close it and open it again

Hi there
I have the exact same problem as the original poster.
I have resisted the upgrade to the new Limewire till today when I accidentally clicked on the link.
Since I installed it Limewire automatically loads itself at start up and periodically if it is not running on my PC.
So I tried to load options to change this.
The options menu flashes for a split second then closes.
My PC is running XP.
Please investigate as this is clearly not a one-off issue.
Many thanks in advance
Edit : I have just upgraded to 4.17.5 as suggested by a previous poster and the problem is the same
Edit 2 : My Java version is 1.6.0_03
Edit 3 :(sorry bout the edits I keep seeing replies on other threads so making sure I have checked everything.) I don't think I have a virus as I have mcafee running, have regular full scans and I am not the only person with this problem as I have read from threads here and on Gnutella forum

i have another thing that has started coming up time after time and that's an error message when trying to load lw up. i have a print screen attatched for u to see...
sorry about the quality i had a nightmare trying to upload this
it then resets lw's settings after it makes me choose the save folder
EDIT: i hope that i have fixed the problem....i ran spybot search and destroy and it found and removed two files, one called PSW.WOW and another called Zlob.Downloader.vdt

If you are running in Windows Vista, make sure that folder is not anywhere near your personal
folders and check to make sure the permissions are open to everybody.
