its not hard at all to make skins.

heres a simple little guide

what i use to make my skins is simply the note pad in the folder and adobe photoshop (photoshop isn't needed but u can make a nice splash)

step 1: go to C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.limewire\themes or where ever your limewire may be saved.

step2: (what i do is copy the Black theme folder and put it into my documents)

step3: there are 27 icons including the splash in the folder to be customized in photoshop to match your skin. (open and customize)

step4: now is to change the main colors of the limewire skin. to do this you must open the notepad called theme inside of the theme folder.

(theme notepad)
will look like this (black theme setup)

################################################## ################
# Theme file for specififying the appearance of LimeWire. All
# LimeWire colors and fonts can be customized below. The
# documentation for these settings is provided at:
#
# http://www.limewire.com/skins
#
# Look under "Visual Design" and particularly "Themes." This
# will make the color and font names below much easier to
# understand.

# nothing in 1.4 or 1.3

SUB_TEXT_FONT_STYLE=0
SUB_TEXT_FONT_SIZE=11

changing the 6 digit # / letter code will change the colors. here is a color code chart http://www.webmonkey.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/

now to know what numbers change what part of the limewire skin. that is all told here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/legend.pdf

now using the color code chart you can change the #'s and letters to the ones you want for the color you want. if the legend that tells you what the #'s and letters go to on the limewire skin is to confusing then simply change one of them to a color save the note pad and look for that color when limewire pops up to see what part you have changed.

hope this helped

Hard drive/documents and settings/username/.limewire/themes/

and you will see whatever folder & attachement you are looking for.
