Hi, when I start up limewire it will not connect. I have had limewire for many years and for the past few months it used to get only one bar but now gets none. I have the new limewire 5 beta and windows vista, but everytime I load up limewire at the connection bar it says "no internet connection". When I go on connections they all say "connecting..." but cant seem to get a connection. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I have tried downloading and saving the gnutella.net file to desktop but nothing works. Its really frustrating, can someone please help!

with lw 5, can you go to tools > options, advanced tools... then go to the connections tab. what does it say for you in the text box in the upper left corner. for example, for me it says, "you are a Leaf node, you are behind a firewall and support firewall transfers ... connected to:
3 ultrapeers,
0 peers
0 leaves
0 connecting
0 standard"

Make sure you either allow Limewire through your firewall or you disable your firewall. If you have a router, be sure to port forward by going here: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Hi, I have a problem myself - I use Limewire Pro 4.18.8 via Vista, up until 3 weeks ago it was working fine, now I have the firewall brick wall sign coming up and it will only get to "starting connection" and one bar when it used to work fine, however my laptop did go in for repair to have the built in wireless router repaired. I use Norton 360 version 2 and have even disabled it fully as well as customizing the settings to allow Limewire but it still will not work, so can you suggest how I can resolve my problem? Is it a firewall via my router?

Check your router again. [Configure your router for LimeWire] (http://www.portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/Limewire/Limewireindex.htm)
Maybe the settings were lost or your internal IP address has changed.

I had to change the DMZ on my router, had the wrong number in there, switched it up and all good.
