The request of visuals I want on this new version:
*Is to have the logo on the top right corner like on the LimeWire 4.18 (Optional).
*Get Skins for LimeWire 5.
*When downloading have the option to have the download list on a box to scroll down.
And your ideas?

I'd like a Classic Look Button on every view so that I can do all the things I used to do, the way I used to do it... at least until I get used to the new look.. I miss things like being able to sort Downloads by Size or Progress or Name/Title etc... I liked being able to select a group of files and seek new sources.. stuff I can't seem to be able to do in the new version/look.
I know I'm a bit "Old School" but I like the view stuff to be listed under View just like most Windoze prgs.
I do like the new version (so far) and I need to learn it more but I hate having to totally relearn a product I already know Often by the time I do I discover that it's actually no different that what it replaced, just "prettier"

Thanks for the feedback!
Is there any reason you'd like to see to the logo in the top-right corner? It takes up a lot of space visually, and I can't think of any reason why it's important to show.
As far as skins go... we'd like to have them, but they're really hard to enable and keep the UI easy to look at. We'd like to add them back in the future, but for the 5.0 release, our priority was getting it looking good. A bunch of folks have commented on skins being important, though, so we'll keep them in mind.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by having downloads in a scrolling list. Downloads are already shown in a tray at the bottom when you start them, and if you'd like to see more, you can click 'See All' to see them all. This is almost exactly the same as in 4.x, where if you'd like to see a lot of downloads you essentially had to minimize your search results.
Thanks also for the feedback on sorting downloads. Sorting by size, progress, and/or name/title is a very interesting idea to add into downloads. I expect this is more important when you have a lot of downloads active. What we've found is that the majority of users have ~3 downloads at any given moment, so we've catered the results to that. However, it certainly makes sense that not everyone fits this mold, and there's features we have to add to keep the program sensible to those folks. I hope you'll stick by as the development of LimeWire 5 continues -- I don't think we'll be able to add this particular feature into the final 5.0 release, but it'll be in the pipeline for future changes.
Thanks for the suggestions and feedback!

I do have quite a number of hard to find items waiting on servers to come back online. I usually sort first by name, then by progress, then by speed. I can then sweep (choose) any number of files, say a group of Like files, and "try again" them. Like Files might be any file that had some download action, or it might be files of a set (of images for example)
The new version has dumbed me down to a simple "Let's go get a file" scenario.
Your Tray at the bottom only shows a few files, I can't select more than one file at a time, I can't see current progress of "Stalled" files and the "Try Again" just flashes - doen't seem to do anything.

Classic look request seconded!
I totally agree with Beamer_1.The old search and downloads lay out is just to versatile to mess with.Give me those old time options..they're good enough for me!

Let me first say that you guys (&gals?) have done a solid job in this version, particularly if you did it from the ground up. Faster loading time, faster searches (so it seems) and significanly less memory footprint (on my hear at least)...
But...
I was hoping for an advancement in the programme, building on what had gone before - lots of stuff seems to be missing (see above).
Please don't wait for a yet newer version to replace/repair the missing stuff.. attack! (Take the weekend off, then get on it) ;)
Re TABS: Why do you have (un)tabs for searches but you need to go to Tools to switch to Downloads (or Uploads) view?
Re Skins: How about a way to just change the colour scheme? To start with.. I'm no big fan of skins but I do like to create a "certain look" for my whole computer.
Like Rommel said...

I worry that the person who thought up Muzak may be thinking up something else

We're going to release an RC2 early next week that addresses some of these issues. That said, what is it about the old search layout that is lacking? Did you really find it useful to type stuff in separate boxes when searching? The new single search box should be just as flexible as the old one (and easier on both the eyes and the fingers).
I totally get the complaint with the downloads being less detailed and/or sortable. To be brutally honest, though... the detail on the old downloads was a little overdone. It was a case of developers adding feature after feature without taking the whole picture into account. (I can say this without feeling bad, because I personally added a lot of those features.) In the end, it ended up with a big jumbled mess that did a lot more than just get the point across. With LimeWire 5 we've taken a step back and decided to show only what is really necessary. In most cases, folks should notice little-to-no difference, because it's all they really wanted anyway. However, there'll always be a few things that folks got attached to, and we accept that it'll cause a few rifts.
Some questions, to help us better understand how/why to re-add some features...
- Why do you want to select a download? What are you trying to do with it?
- What do you want a tab for downloads for? Is the "See All" link in the download tray an acceptable replacement?
Skins are going to come later. It's just too big a project to get skins right when redoing the entire UI from scratch.
Thanks again for the great feedback!

Hey. Gotta thank you for this program. :) I was wondering, in the next version, the downloads thing could be resizable, and maybe more views for them. I mean you could change them to look like in Windows Explorer, like Details, List, Tiles, etc. Would appreciate it a lot. If i got many DL's going on, i hate to click the "Show All" button.. Perhaps i'm lazy, but just an idea for improvement?
