Hey, I have no issues with this release, it is a HUGE improvment over previous releases. I have a few tiny suggestions that may or not get considered but w/e here i go. Could you please enable us to remove options from the options toolbar? For example i know for a fact that i will never use any of the social networking features, so i do not want to have the "friends" or "view" option, could you please enable us to remove unessary toolbars so each user cna have their own personalized limewire?

also, it seems that whenever i turn off the sidebar, the next time i restart limewire its back up

is this going to be addressed?

thanks and keep it up i love limeiwre

Thanks! We're pretty happy with LW 5 too, and stoked you like it.

To be honest, I don't think we're going to get rid of options from the toolbar. It's just one of those places that should remain consistent. You should try using the friend features, though -- they're pretty darn nifty!

I'm not sure about the sidebar, though. I can imagine someone accidentally closing it and being confused when the re-open LimeWire as to where it is... but I don't think that'd be that big a deal. What do other people think? Is this something you'd like to see?

Hello,

It seems that a few features that was always in the older versions are no longer available in v5.0.9 (or I just don't know how to access them). Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
1. "Download As": the ability to save the file in a directory other than the default so that you don't have to move files after the download.
2. I miss the "Checkmark" that indicated I have already downloaded the file
3. The ability to "resume" incomplete downloaded via the incomplete directory. I cannot seem to "resume all" or add that directory to "my library"
4. The ability to repeat a search using the same criteria
5. The ability to review files by directory versus file type

I am just curious what happened to these features that I have used over the last 3 years and have relied on them very frequently.

Thanks for your help.

hi jglinski

1. "Download As": the ability to save the file in a directory other than the default so that you don't have to move files after the download.
There is no download as feature. In Options -> Advanced -> Files you can still configure download folders based on type. So all audio or video or image, etc.. files can be sent to a unique folder.

2. I miss the "Checkmark" that indicated I have already downloaded the file

The checkmark has been replaced by the My Library icon. You should see that icon replace the category icon if you already have that file. Also you'll see a down arrow if you're already downloading that file.

3. The ability to "resume" incomplete downloaded via the incomplete directory. I cannot seem to "resume all" or add that directory to "my library"

All of you're incomplete files will show up in the Downloads View. At the moment theres no way to resume all your downloads at once.

4. The ability to repeat a search using the same criteria

If you right click on the search tab theres the option to "find more results", additionally clicking on an old search tab fills in the search box with the old search terms. Hitting enter in the search box would spawn a new search. Finally all of your searches for the session are saved in a drop down under the search box, so as you start typing it will show you old search terms.

5. The ability to review files by directory versus file type

Unfortunately the notion of folders in the ui is gone. We found most people care more about what files LimeWire knows about rather than how they're stored on the file system. Would adding a column with the path to the file solve this problem? You would then be able to sort and filter in each category based on the file path.

Thank you the clarification on the Icon for in my library. Concerning seperate directory by file type...that I did see but often on the previous versions I would do I "Download As" in order to further organize my documents, music or videos which I can no longer do (if I am correct)
I miss the repeat search since it did not spaw another search and now we have to kill the original one.

FWIW, in the "list view" it will literally say "so and so search result is in Your Library", similarly, "Downloading so and so search result". In the classic view, it uses just the library book icon or the downloading arrow icon since there's not as much room for the text.

Look in the Library and start unsharing stuff.
You just right-click and select whether or not.

What you really want to do is remove some whole folders from the library completely.
That's easily done in the Options dialog.
