I don't know whats wrong with this new version but 99% of the time it downloads at 0kb/s, it goes to like 10 or 12 for less then 1 sec then back to 0 for 2 to 5 minutes, i did not have this problem with the older version it downloaded at LEAST at an average of 25kb/s constantly. I thought PRO was supposed to have turbo charged downloads, not the most pathetic download speed in the world today, just what the hell am i paying for?

You may need to port forward to allow connections. You can go to: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
You just need to find your router in the list and click on it. Click on Limewire on the next page. There will be a guide on how to do it on the last page. Hope this helps!

I think the new version is measuring speeds incorrectly. It used to be the correct kbps (kilobits
per second) but now is using kBps (kilobytes per second), which is improper syntax for serial speeds.

The difference is 8 to 1, so your original 25 kbps is now being incorrectly shown as around 2 or 3 kBps.

I imagine some people want to see speeds in the incorrect byte form because more and more
programmers are making this basic error too, but I would hope that we could at least have the option to
set the display of bitrates in the correct form.

Reported in JIRA: LWC-2821 (https://www.limewire.org/jira/browse/LWC-2821)

I am defininately not confusing bytes for bits, i would download files 4 or 5 Gigabytes in a day or 2 at about 25 KB/s, if it were downloading at 25 kilobits per second it would have taken months to download those files.

Okay, It's just that you wrote it that way (kb/s instead of KB/s) and LimeWire 5 is currently using the
wrong measurement in contrast to earlier versions.

So, the other 1% of the time, it is downloading at higher speeds?
Can you supply more details for troubleshooting? Guesswork won't be very helpful to you.
We need to be able to reproduce the situation exactly or there's no hope of finding a cause.

And of course you are aware your ISP does throttle P2P traffic, right?
They may have just started throttling you because they didn't notice you before.

when it is downloading it is usually around 2 to 15 KB/s, sometimes it spikes to 20 or 30, but drops down again. the thing is when it drops to 0KB/s all downloads drop to 0 at the same time, and it is not 0.2 or something it is just plain 0 even the time left dissappears when it drops to 0 meaning it is not downloading at all.

Yeah, that sounds like blocking and LimeWire is being partially successful at drilling through it.
I think they are only blocking in the latter half of the day, like from 4PM to midnight.
Do you see any daily pattern like that from your location?

Changing your port can also help. You might have to do it often so build up a bunch of rules
in your firewall and router so that all you have to do is change the port in LimeWire to one of
your prearranged ports. I don't know if that will help in your case but it's worth a try.
