Searching:
In the search results I got (Club Rmx) for mp3 - in a beta state I saw this already, is LW learning mode yet? I didn't mark them as spam, hope LW will filter them later.
I got unknown viruses for .wma and .mpa, probably LW doesn't deal with them. I filtered out them in Options Security but why doesn't LW filter them?
Browsing a user:
the file counter grows relatively fast, about 2000 the cpu usage jumps to 100% and remains there still finishing.
It's about the same performance and the same problem (cpu usage) as in LW 4.
downloading:
I've selected 30 tracks to download from this browse. 2 went well, one had the "try again" possibility, the others began to wait 20 minutes. "Try Again" was not selectable, after the 3 downloads I had to cancel the remaining waiting downloads, and redownload them. But if this works, why can't I simply retry ?
My download limit is set to 999 (from LW 4 - I know that this is absurdly high). As I red
We limited simultaneous downloads to 10 because we've found that LimeWire performs better when there's less active downloads. I suppose we can raise the cap a little -- but some people set it to an absurdly high number, and that's a common cause for errors. What number do you use?
Probably LW 5 didn't accepted 999 at runtime, or overwrote it, but the 20 minutes waiting, and no retry possibility is too big penalty. I have to say the manual retry one by one is enough penalty.
Options didn't say anything about this limit: if I set to 100 and go back, I see 10.
correction:
I've reduced the limit to 10, but no change, some files is downloading or I can retry, more files are waiting 20 minutes.
I found that Pause All and Resume All (not from download tray, but from full screen Dowmloads) helps, but not always.
Otherwise the downloads were fast and successful.
My Library:
in "Total" LW counts the incomplete and downloaded files and shows them in the files. These files are unshared, I think according to my settings in Options: "Only share files in that category at that point", and how I shared my library (only p2p sharing, not with "share collection", but with Ctrl-A and share menu item)
The incomplete files are in different color.
I don't understand why counts and shows the downloads LW, and why I have to remove them manually from My Library, if I don't want to share them by a bad sharing action.
Options -> My Library shows:
At some point you manually added files from some folders into My Library: View Folders
Here I see my download library. If I remove it, LW removes the downloaded files from My Library, but not the incompletes.
I have to say, I didn't added files from some folders into My Library manually - LW added them after a successful download, and I don't know why. Is an option to prevent this ?
Other options here:
Automatically add the following categories from folders below to My Library: Audio, Images
Sharing Categories: Choose what happens when I share a category: Only share files in that category at that point.
Options -> Downloads: Share files downloaded from P2P Network with the P2P Network : Off
