unable to open mpg videos

Hi there, I am a new LIMEWIRE user, when I down load videos, and try to open the "mpg" ones I receive a window that says unable to open because "bad file"
how can I fix this so I can open the videos?:confused:

Make sure they are good files first: [GSpot Codec Information Appliance] (http://www.headbands.com/gspot)
For security, check them in LimeWire (if it's version 5) by right-click - View file info - More file info.
