I'm new to "limewire" and I'm ripping my hair ou here. At first it created a shared file on my itunes account, but it wouldn't let me drag it over onto my ipod. How do I get it on my ipod?

LimeWire can now automatically add files to your iTunes. If you go into Tools --> Options -> Downloads there's a checkbox for automatically adding downloaded songs into your iTunes.
If you want to do it yourself you must look in My Library within LimeWire and drag files from there into your iTunes. Once the songs are in iTunes you can add them to you ipod. You can't drag files from the Shared folder in iTunes directly.

That doesn't help. How do you put them on your ipod once they're on itunes? Mine are in a file under shared limewire whateverness and when I sync my ipod it doesn't add the songs on the list to my ipod. Wtf???

I do not have Limewire 5, but I assume that adding files automatically to your iTunes means they are added to your iTunes library. As you have found, the files listed in the shared limewire folder are just a playlist and nothing more.
If you locate the files you want in the iTunes library ... then those can be added to your ipod in the usual way.
Please let us know if this helps.

No that's the problem, it's not adding the songs to my iTunes library and I can't find a way to get them there

Hmm .. as i said i don't have Limewire 5, but if you can find your files in the save folder for Limewire and choose open with itunes from there they should definitely add to your itunes library then.

I can only guess but got to tools > options > saving ... or something like that and I imagine there is an option there showing the location of your save folder. I hope this helps.....

I have always downloaded music off liemwire and then just dragged and dropped them to my itunes library either by going into my shared file, or with the new one i just found you can drag and drop straight from the limewire music library.
does this not work with everyone else?

Drag and drop from the "shared" folder or straigh from the limewire library when you have it running(if you have limewire 5)

I totally know your pain!! From what i've discovered my music automatically goes into my iTunes library but before that I discovered it went into my Recently Added folder. If you right click on that it will ask if you to put it in a playlist, first i added it to a playlist that i already had, i saw that the music went and then created a Limewire playlist. I synced my iPod to it and it worked. I don't know what else to tell you except good luck!!!!

Usually what I do when I download songs using Limewire 5 is I download it, Go to Itunes Library, Click Add file, Find the song, Then its in the Library, and then click Sync.
If that doesnt work, instead of clicking sync, make sure ur Ipod is plugged in, go under devices, go under the music section, click sync music, and then at the bottom click sync. It should work then.
