With the new limewire 5.3.6 I am unable to download any files. I am not a limewire pro user (I'm a student in South Africa and as all studens know, we don't have spare money, especially not with the current exchange rates.) The downloads say connecting and go up to connecing with 8 users, but then a few seconds later drop back to stalled and that is as far as it gets. I've tried the " fix stalled" and "Search again" with no luck. I have a medium connection and I am sharing 9,5 thousand files.
In South Africa we are still behind a little bit with internet speed and the max you can buy is 1 mb/sec and that is what I have athough we never really get that kind of speeds. With limewire 4 I got up to about 100kb/sec total during downloads, and I could download files with the earlier version 5 versions but i havent used limewire in a while (due to computer theft).
I downloaded some music files a few days back and it took 3 days per song, slumping along with 1kb/sec for a few minutes every time I fixed stalled.
What determains how fast limewire downloads? Amount of files shared? Tipe of files shared? Connection strength? Discrimination against people who doesn't have pro :p? (Although it does say at the download page that even limewire basic has the: Fastest P2P downloads on the planet
Did some settings change from the previous versions that are hampering me?
