This is my first attempt at a skin. I like the red and black, brings out my inner evil. No extra graphics like a new logo or a new splash screen, maybe in the next edition, idk. Heres a screen:

Looks good, except the logo looks a bit rough around the edges. :)

That's what happens when you use a dark skin with the logo, but i'm planning on making a logo that works with the skin.

Here's a second version, with a better logo, and an ok splash, i'm not good at 3D or embossing or any of that, so the splash pretty much sux. If anyone would like to help by making a better splash, it'd be well appreciated. :D

I just noticed from your image, you have a firewall problem (brick wall in front of blue globe.) So I guess not too many people upload from you.

Not with that file count either :):D I suppose the appearance is the first thing some people like to sort out. Personally I couldn't care what it looks like as long as I can read the writing, which I don't find easy with some very pretty skins lol

umm, i usually use frostwire, cuz i hate the popups that LimeWire gives, but they're taking forever to update, so i downloaded LimeWire. I took this pic right after i installed it, i hadn't downloaded anything at that time, or configured it, i just installed it, so it's not uploading anything. it had literally just loaded. I was downloading skins from here and was bored, so i made my own, and here it is...

and idk about a firewall problem, i don't usually get to many items in my upload section, i just use Windows Xp home Sp2 with the firewall on.

i might try to make youz one tommorow, unless someone else does it first, but what font is that? so It matches the logo

i don't remember what font the numbers were in, but the words are in the AnarK font. the numbers in AnarK are all slashes, so I didn't like them. Thanx in advance

you need to change the extension to psd, and its all set....or if theres anything you want to be changed, or added, I can do that with ease


and garbagefan, I use photoshop.....but I hear there is a free program called GIMP that works well

i used adobe illustrator to make the logo, and santaclause thanx alot, i'll go and add it, and release v3.

now the skin is looking good, but one last thing you need to do is make a copy of the splash named splashpro for the limewire pro users and it will be an aweswome theme

I hope i did this right, but the splash should now work for pro too, i wouldn't know, I just use Basic. so if anyone has pro and would like to say if it works, just tell me.

you could do what i did and just look on google for tutorials and just follow a lot of them, every tutorial can usually teach you at least one thing. Ive done at least 30 by now, and im still doing them

Can anyone tell me how to make my new splash show up? It's still the origainal Basic. :confused:
