Actually we can ban hosts via right-click search result & choose View File Info, right-click Location User address & choose Block Address. It's a long process to do the same which could be done faster in LW 4, however, the one big advantage in LW 5 is we can choose which of those addresses to ban. Whereas in LW 4 if there were multiple hosts, you only had option to ban all of them. (unless you wrote the ip addresses down & entered those into the filter manually.) Splitting hosts is a great improvement!

I totally agree with all the above hopalong suggested. The present LW 5 has improved in loading shares compared to the earliest alpha & beta versions. However it's still ridiculous at present having to share a fraction of my normal shares so the program is useable & loads up without being unpredictable, freezing, slow, white windows, etc. 2 x 3.2 GB Quad core with 16 GB ram, 4 x 1 TB drives, 512 MB Video card one would think should be enough to run any p2p program.

Some p2p programs, if I may give DC++ as an example. It does not appear to have any share overhead at all. Whereas LW seems to carry every shared file on its shoulders. DC & cloned programs can share 50,000 or 100,000+ files easily. Also share easily from external drives. Whereas LW seems to have problems with external drives, always has. LW 5 struggles with 2,000 files, even much much less for some people. LW 4 can share over 10,000 on a good system. I've shared over 16 K at one point. (Is it because these programs are written in C, like some other gnutella programs that do not seem to suffer the same sharing issue?)

There was a member sharing 75,000 files with LW 5, had problems with Friends so has now moved onto alternatives. Not sure how their program ever loaded up. lol

It's a PITA on my large monitor reaching cursor up to far left corner of screen to get to the Tools menu. I get more tired using LW 5 in an hour than I do after a day of using graphic programs. (On OSX these menu options are not on the program itself!) Keyboard shortcuts would be handy. Although hopalong suggested laying the windows back in a similar fashion to LW 4, probably both keyboard shortcuts & his suggestion would work very well.

Compromising with torrents is an argumentative point. LW's implementation was never quite up to it. It's not recognised at many & probably most private private torrent sites. The share ratio .. where does it show you your ratio? If there are gnutella users uploading, preventing a torrent sharing back as it should, perhaps also due to the user's upload settings. Then the other angle: people finding LW users in their search results but unable to download from them due to their bandwidth (/or slots) used up for torrents. When I've been using LW 4, I've been finding many users in recent times where they were uploading from me, but after a browse of their files, each file I'd choose to download would immediately go to 'Need More Sources' & cancelling & reselecting would make no difference with each file. LW is starting to remind me of the infamous problems people have always had with ShareAza connecting to multiple networks including torrents, so very difficult to download from them (ignoring their primitive gnutella implementation.)

The deletion of the incomplete file after canceling a file does have obvious advantages. However, it does also have the other problem. If someone should accidentally cancel a 1 GB video download file whilst wishing to preview for example. I believe there should be an option to ask the user do you wish to also delete the incomplete file. This is similar concept to deleting files from the library. Then there's also loss of the advantage LW 4 had with incomplete files, being able to resume them after either the file was previously cancelled or LW crashes & the incomplete files do not load as was an issue in LW 4.

Library in LW 5 does not have Date modified column. This was good to check for most recently added shares .. to add descriptions to them. LW 5 does not have a multiple description option at moment. Each one must be done one by one.

Images window: The thumbnails look great! No need to launch file to see what image looks like. However, there is no other information. No filename, no filesize. Impossible to see which one is a small version if two are the same image & one itself is a small thumbnail file. I have high resolution image files as well as smaller versions. I have not a clue which is which when all I can see is the thumbnail. If sharing lots of images, this becomes a nuisance. Needing to right-click / control-click to get information or to add information individually for large number of files is ... slow, cumbersome if hundreds or thousands of images, or files in general. Especially when some will have a similar description which could be all added in a single step in LW 4. Images window should contain more file information or have option to view in List mode. Probably both! As it is, Images window does not have options to see uploads or hits, date modified, etc.

No ability to cancel or pause multiple files at once in LW 5. All selections are one by one. This is again retrogressive.

No folder listing in Library (exception being images.) erm ... leaves the user with no idea about where to find their files in some cases. Get info for each to check their location & other information? Whilst it can be good to view all files in library in one window, the folder option would also be good also & suits other purposes, both should be included. A swappable view option would be ideal. Similar to how we can swap between classic & list view for search results.

I'll resume other points later. lol
