Thanks for your reply. I tried to reboot the computer, open LW and play an audio file but it didn't work. The result was the same as before. This is not really a problem for me since the system's default media player works fine but if I can do something to provide more information, feel free to say how I can do that.

Also, there's a little cosmetic issue with the LimeWire icon on the GNOME panel when a dark/black theme is used : the square that contains the LimeWire icon doesn't seem to be transparent (screenshot attached). This doesn't happen with the default theme which has the same background colour than the square in question.

PS: My config: Ubuntu 9.10 amd64, OpenJDK, LimeWire 5.4.0 Pro extracted from the zip archive (not the .deb package).
Edit: This thread may provide some additional information about the cosmetic issue stated above.
